MISS KATHRYN HILLABY
Consultant Gynaecological Surgeon MB BS, BSc (HONS), MRCOG, MDMiss Kathryn Hillaby is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Nuffield Health Cheltenham Hospital. She qualified as a Doctor in 1998 from the Royal Free Hospital in London with distinction in Obstetrics and gynaecology.
Miss Hillaby is an experienced surgical gynaecologist who specialises in treating women with gynaecological cancer (cancer of the womb, ovary, vulva and cervix) as well as general gynaecological problems. She is accredited in colposcopy (the management of smear test abnormalities) as well as being an expert in gynaecological ultrasound, and is also trained in the use of laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, including keyhole hysterectomy.
Miss Hillaby completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in and around London, spending two years in research at King's College Hospital, specialising in using gynaecological ultrasound to diagnose ovarian cysts and other gynaecological conditions, and achieving her Doctorate. She also undertook additional training to be a women's cancer specialist in one of the biggest UK women's cancer centres, in Birmingham. She was appointed as a Consultant at Cheltenham General Hospital in 2010, which is a regional cancer centre, providing surgical care for women with gynaecological cancer from Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
Miss Hillaby treated me in colposcopy clinic, and was absolutely wonderful. She listened to my concern and showed how much she cares about her patients.
Miss Hillaby has been my consultant since April 2010 and did my initial surgery. She is an excellent surgeon in her field, knowledgeable and very caring. She genuinely cares and has time for you.
Miss Hillaby treated me for primary peritoneal cancer. She is professional caring and always takes her time with you. She even visited me on the ward on a Saturday to make sure I was ok after a long difficult surgery.
